Summer's here, following a spring that featured plenty of sun,
plenty of rain, and plenty of fascinating assignments!
Here are some recent commissions.

Postcard From Berlin

For Alta Journal, accompanying an article about a gallery in Berlin that was once a classic American gas station, now renovated and repurposed. At the time of the writer's visit the gallery was exhibiting artwork by film producer David Lynch.

Fishing for Greenland's Wealth

One of the reasons for Trump's interest in Greenland is the wealth of rare earths and other minerals buried beneath its surface. Including, of course, gold. For Tablet magazine.

You Can Bet on Anything

For Tablet magazine, illustrating an article about prediction markets. The piece explores the range of outcomes on which bets can be placed, from the trivial to the significant, and wonders if some day gamblers will place bets on the arrival date of the biblical apocalypse.

Can Data Centers Hide in Plain Sight?

One of a series of illustrations on the future of data centers. One concern for architects is minimizing these centers' local impact, both visually and environmentally. Commissioned by my son for his Masters in Architecture thesis at Harvard University.

Get Out of Jail Code

For Communications of the ACM magazine. Teaching computer skills to incarcerated individuals can lead to workplace success after incarceration. Rather than using hash marks to count the days, the inmate has written out the code for a countdown timer.

Designer DNA

Created for an article that looked at the pronatalist movement. One aspect is the rise of designer DNA, often aiming for specific physical characteristics. Part of a series done for the Economist magazine.
